This section lists electronic and paperware publications relating to Banking and Financial technology. Obviously it's not exhaustive (yet), so if you know of any omissions please let me know.
Watermark Group - ATM
The Watermark group bring you interesting (although somewhat US-centric) ATM information in return for being able to plug their wares. Web based, and up to date at the time of writing. Definitely worth a visit, at http://www.watermarkgroupinc.com/atmdivision.html
Also from Watermark is the online, searchable and frequent ATM magazine at http://www.ATMmagazine.com
Finance on Windows
By the UK Tudor Rose group. The website for this quarterly magazine is here http://www.onwindows.com/fow/home.htm , and the mission is to address the use of MS Windows
technology in the financial services sector, primarily intended for the Europe, Middle East and Africa sector. I have no idea what it's like as they promised me a sample copy in January, and it hasn't arrived yet :-)
Financial Technology Weekly
In their words: "Financial Technology Weekly is the weekly newsletter dedicated to IT and business developments in the financial services sector, covering:
- Internet and virtual finance
- Delivery channels/methods
- IT and business developments
- Vendor strategies
- Market trends
Financial Technology Weekly is designed to give you an incisive, unbiased precis of the latest market developments - in
one easy to read weekly newsletter."
It's not free (in fact its not cheap, either). But you can get more details and subscribe online at http://www.newsletterinteractive.com/ftw/index.htm
The Banker and Tradesman
Published by the Warren Group, and covering local issues for New England, USA. I haven't reviewed it yet, but you might like to, so here's the link: http://www.thewarrengroup.com
Card Technology Magazine
Not exclusively finance related (it covers other card uses as well) this Faulkner and Gray site contains a
wealth of up-to-date news and bulletins that are a must have if you're in the card world.
You can find it at http://www.ct-ctst.com
Banking technology
Confusingly, everyone seems to be calling themselves 'Banking technology' or a similar derivate these
days. The first magazine I saw with this name was this one from the UK... someone else got bankingtechnology.com first though, so they've had to settle for bankingtech.com. The online site, they
say, represents a 'distillation' of the printed magazine and some sister publications. The claim to fame is that they say they are 'the authority on financial systems worldwide'. Hmm.
Anyway, you can find it at http://www.bankingtech.com/online/index.html. They've got links to all their
associated newsletters and gubbins so I haven't listed them all here.
They sent me a free copy to review (thanks, B-T), but this site is still not on their links page!
The Electronic Banking Digest
Cited itself as the only specialty E-Zine covering electronic banking issues in July 99.
This seems to have now disappeared, although the New Zealand parent company is still there. It was at http://www.technicorp.net/ebd/ebd.htm (This goes to show what happens when you try to charge USD
875 a year for reciprocal links)
Bank Systems & Technology / Financial technology International
Well, it's now gone the way of most magazines and becom a dot com since I last reviewed it in July
1999, but it still has a paper version so I include it here. This is a US domestic (mainly) publication.
Worth taking a look, although the 'Buyers Guide' thingy is a bit eccentric. Find the whole thing at www.banktech.com
Others, and miscellaneous
Watch this space?
(I know, I know, there are quite a few people that have sent me entries for this section. I will get round to including them, I promise)
Can you fill in any gaps? Are there any publications that I've missed? Please, please tell me!
